MP3: Headless Horseman - "1CHRD" (Blackbird Blackbird Remix)

From Audible Treats:

MP3: Headless Horseman - "1CHRD" (Blackbird Blackbird Remix)

Blackbird Blackbird Remix Takes Headless Horseman Single On Electric Ride

Critical Praise:

"Seemingly sprinting towards greatness, Headless Horseman are doing things their own way. When do you know you're doing something right with your songwriting? When you get a massive banger remix." – FILTERmagazine.com

"At first blush, there's something almost grating about New York-via-Allentown duo Headless Horseman - the music's warped, claustrophobic, Chimpmunk-y, sorta strange. After you let it sink in for a few seconds, it's also sharp, smart, and full of unavoidable hooks." – Stereogum.com

The Song:

As they continue to prep the summer release of their debut EP, HDLSS, Headless Horseman, the New York-via-Allentown duo comprised of Conner O'Neill and Fareed Sajan, are keeping plenty busy. Most recently, The L Magazine paid them Honorable Mention in their "8 Bands You Need To Hear," and continuing a streak of live shows in the city, that was highlighted earlier this year with a residency at Piano's, Headless Horseman have a show at Brooklyn Bowl on May 28th as part of The Deli Magazine's "Best of Emerging Artist Fest." Before that, however, Headless Horseman is excited to release the new remix by Blackbird Blackbird. "They have a very varied body of work," says Fareed when speaking on Blackbird Blackbird. "We really love their electronic work; the use of compression and composition of beats, his music glows."

"1CHRD," titled, quite literally, after the one chord Headless Horseman used in the rhythmic pattern for the song, might seem like a foreboding task to remix. However, Blackbird Blackbird blends the smoothness of washed out synthesizers with choppier electronic sequences, and the convergence feels natural, allowing the falsetto-friendly synth to traverse effortlessly throughout the song, accenting the in-out transient vocals. And while Headless Horseman's vocals-buried-in-the-music style lends itself to allowing the listener to interpret their own meaning of a song, they do offer a hint with this new remix. "Basically, it's about the ghost you leave in other people's memory," explains Fareed. "Every memory is a ghost and every ghost is a memory..."

Video: Tricksta & More - "Out of Darkness (Juttla Remix)"

From Park Street PR:

Video: Tricksta & More - "Out of Darkness (Juttla Remix)"

UK producer and all around Hip-Hop enthusiast Tricksta unleashed the music video to his first single from his forthcoming album 'Out Of Darkness Cometh Light' back in February. The video for the single was well received by Hip-Hop fans all over the globe and has now had over 20,000 views on You Tube. The track featuring talented rappers Supar Novar, Cyclonious, LATE, Streetz and Deeze has already made noise in the Hip-Hop scene. Tricksta is also the force behind the well respected mixtape series UK Runnings www.ukrunnings.co.uk, as well running Rago Magazine www.ragomagazine.com with rapper LATE since may 1999.

Now two months after its original video release, 'Out Of Darkness' is back with a brand new remix from producer Juttla. Juttla is a producer who has turned out official remixes for the likes of Marshall Jefferson, Dopefish (Y4K), Asian Dub Foundation, Wayward Soul, The Disablists & Foreign Beggars and many more, as well featuring on numerous compilations and releasing three of his own albums. Juttla has also DJ'ed all over the planet and has recently formed a live band that will be playing a festival near you soon! Tricksta explains how the remix came about:

"I always said that when I eventually released my first ever Tricksta track as a single, I only wanted one producer to ever do a remix of it. I knew that Juttla was the man, in fact I knew that ten years ago!!! (lol), but he is on fire at the moment. I've worked with Juttla on a few occasions and I have always been really impressed at the talent that he has. The way Juttla has twisted up this track is pure genius. Juttla really has just tore it out. its very now and its super fresh, totally original, forward thinking and cutting edge. It's already blowing up the spot in a genre that maybe this track wouldn't have even existed so I got big him up the maximum for all his efforts. Juttla has smashed the one and only remix this track will ever have and above all he has reminded me why so many people are talking about him."

The original album version and original instrumental version alongside the Juttla Remix will be available to purchase from iTunes and all other leading websites in June 2011. Make sure be on the look out for more music from Tricksta's 'Out Of Darkness Cometh Light' album coming sooner than you think.
