New Orleans, LA - It's only been up for a few hours but already the blogs are posting Dee-1's video follow-up to his surprise smash, "Jay, 50 & Weezy", which has enjoyed spins on MTV Jams since October 30th, was up for votes on MTVu and has been posted on all major sites and blogs, in addition to garnering over 260,000 views total on YouTube with over 50 pages of comments. Dee-1's second offering, "One Man Army" has already been recognized by the greats like Nah Right and 2 Dope Boyz and already has 4 pages of comments on YouTube.
David Augustine aka Dee-1 always had a passion for music. After graduating from Louisiana State with a Bachelors in marketing, he began teaching middle school as a way of funding that passion. The strong bond he built with his students, even as his notoriety as a local artist began to grow, made him realize that being Dee-1 gave him a much larger platform to enlighten than being Mr. Augustine and so, his career choice was made.
Since then there has been his highly successful mixtapes, "Still We Rise", "I Am Who I Am" and "I Hope They Hear Me", an independent album, "David & Goliath" (nominated for for Hip Hop Album of the Year by Offbeat magazine) and live performances alongside the likes of Lil Wayne, Drake, Lupe Fiasco, Trey Songz, Akon, Talib Kweli and more, where his star power was evident. Dee-1 was also the first rap act to win the annual LouisianaStateUniversity "Battle of the Bands."
Next up for this unapologetic musical educator is his new mixtape, "I Hope They Hear Me: Vol. #2", set to drop as a free download early next year and it's appetizer release,"I Hope They Hear Me, Vol. 1.5" dropping next week, also as a download. The first single/video for the tape is "Jay, 50 and Weezy", a lyrical challenge from Dee-1 to those he looks up to in the game.
If you saw/heard the Killah Priest video earlier today, the background sample MAY sound familiar. Props if you know the original artist + song (if not it's not hard to find - look it up) and R.I.P. Guru.
As fans eagerly await the release of "Knoc's Ville", Knoc-turn'al has put together the "1.11.11 The Prequel" mixtape hosted by DJ Nik Bean & DJ Clean for free download today. The tape features 11 tracks, a combination of new, exclusive never before heard material and recent leaks. The tape features guest appearances and production from Cashis, Jayo Felony, One-2, Focus..., Shaunta, Samuel Christian AKA Shorty, Komplex and more.

2. Ain't Seen U At All (f. Young Hu$tle & Jaguar)
3. Give me the Night (Produced by Komplex)

MP3: Boog Brown - "Understanding" (Audible Doctor Remix)
Latest Single From Brown Study Explores Vulnerability, Gets Audible Doctor Makeover
As Boog Brown continues to support the recent release of Brown Study, between herself and renowned producer Apollo Brown, the Atlanta by way of Detroit emcee is releasing the latest remix of the album, this time for the soulful track "Understanding." Remixing the track is producer Audible Doctor, who recently produced “Battle Cry,” one of the singles from Joell Ortiz’ upcoming Free Agent album.
While the original features filtered string chops over muted drums, with the remix Audible Doctor chops an array of sparse vocal samples, layering them over slapping snares. "The remix brings out the vocals more," says Boog about Audible Doctor's beat. "It lets you hear the message in a different way." And for a song that explores the idea of vulnerability and letting your guard down, it was important for Boog to allow fans to hear the message again, with a fresh take. "No one has to validate your journey," says Boog. "Just make sure you're honest with yourself."

Iconic artists and Chicago natives Common, Lupe Fiasco, Jennifer Hudson, and No I.D. recently collaborated to record the track, "We Can Do It Now," an ode to their hometown in celebration of the popular series, REPLAY. REPLAY has also released an inspiration video for "We Can Do It Now," featuring Common, Lupe Fiasco, Jennifer Hudson, and No I.D.
Gatorade created REPLAY to restage classic games that ended in controversy - offering athletes a second chance for redemption some 10-15 years later. Gatorade reunites the original teammates and provides them with an 8-week training and nutrition program so they can get back in peak shape and replay their game to settle the score once and for all.
Season III of REPLAY features two South Side Chicago high school basketball teams, the Bloom Township Trojans and the Brother Rice Crusaders. The two teams competed this fall to settle their 2000 super sectional game that decided who would go "downstate" to the Elite 8 and who would go home. The original game ended with a controversial call regarding the game clock, shrouding the final shot in controversy for a decade. A documentary sharing the journey of these athletes and their REPLAY game will be airing throughout the month of December on Fox Sports Net (check REPLAYtheSeries.com or Fox Sports Net for local listings).
