Realized i hadn't updated the blog in a few days, mainly cuz i been locked in my newly setup home studio aka "Studio Champloo"mixing & mastering lots of upcoming projects! As always, i got a lot of music on deck, so i'm really trying to focus on finishing one before i get too engrossed in another... and of course i'll keep everyone posted right here on the blog and on my forum as to what exactly i'm working on.
All i'll say for now is that my next record is a real special one as it celebrates 10 years of producing for me and the concept behind the album is pretty slick (at least to me). It'll be out end of summer which is right about the time i dropped the VERY FIRST PANACEA record, and NOT the Panacea you all know as me & Raw Poetic... i'll explain the complete history of the group very soon in another post! In the meantime, stay tuned & stay cool- its hot as FUCK out there!
Houston, TX - Thursday, July 22nd marked the 3rd anniversary of Houston rapper, Trae Tha Truth's annual celebration of Trae Day and despite the fact that Mother Nature was less than cooperative, gracing the crowd with her uglier side, the thousands that attended seemed barely to notice.
Instead, they showed all of the enthusiasm and support due an entertainer who had clearly gone out of his way to show his appreciation and support of them. Nationally known artists like Lupe Fiasco, Young Buck, Yo Gotti, Gorilla Zoe and Young Money signees Jae Millz and Lil Chuckee joined Trae on stage with media outlets like MTV News' Shaheem Reid and Rahman Dukes, Ozone's Julia Beverly, Sirius' Angela Yee and XXL's Brooklyne Gipson on hand to capture it all for posterity.
Trae Day was definitely a day for family and Trae proudly sported the latest addition to his, baby son Houston. School supplies were given out to those less fortunate, as were free back-to-school immunizations and health screenings.
As the days festivities drew to a close, the massive crowd dispersed peacefully, making it the perfect end to the perfect day.
The message of the day seemed to be "you can't ban the truth" and if the size of the crowd, without the support of local radio for the event, is anything to go by, the message indeed holds true. Trae intends to keep that message alive. His Can't Ban Tha Truth mixtape drops August 24th and will feature Lupe Fiasco, T-Pain, Yo Gotti, Jae Millz, Yung Quis, Gutta Gutta, Jay'Ton and more. Stand by for details.............

DJ GREEN LANTERN COLLABORATES WITH NEFEW FOR NEW PROJECT
After the rampant success of their Antihero Begins mixtape released in the Spring, Hip-Hop duo, Nefew knew the pressure would be on to equal if not better the buzz that their 2DopeBoyz and Puma presented project caused. Having been hard at work since April on new concepts and ideas for their follow up, Polemikk and PA Double have aligned themselves with a strong supporting cast for their sophomore free download, MAN VS MANY.
With the guidance, direction and assistance of world renowned DJ, Green Lantern, Nefew know they are in capable hands on this project. Opting to work with an eclectic bunch of musicians, producers and performers is a rarity for the European based duo, but was embraced for MAN VS MANY. These unions continue to showcase their capabilities in creating music, solidifying their name and brand in Hip-Hop.
“It’s definitely a privilege to work with Green Lantern on our second official mixtape. Hip Hop and music fans can look forward to a rap album with epic production and a lot of depth. The concept behind “Man vs. Many” is simple: Be yourself and don’t follow trends. If you’re talented and you’re willing to work hard for what you believe in, you’ll get there, although you might face a lot of conflicts along the way, mostly with yourself. ”- POLEMIKK
“This mixtape is going to be enormous, much stronger than the antihero begins and I’m very happy with the selection of collaborations. I don’t believe in randomly picking artists just to have a feature to generate a buzz. The features we picked are artists that follow similar musical values, and you’ll soon find out that we achieved a perfect match. This is a great opportunity for us to really to expand and show the world who Nefew is and what we stand for.” – PA DOUBLE
MAN VS MANY will be available in September and will compliment what NEFEW have been up to in between their two 2010 releases. Relentless work in the studio combined with intricate planning for this release will see this musical chapter as welcomed, as it is influential.
To celebrate the official album release of Concrete Steppin, E Reece shares a third leak with the track "Don't Front" featuring fellow L.A. emcees El Prez and Tunji. This track, as well as the first single "Fly Hi" and "The Game" (produced by Oddisee), are just a sliver of great music that can be heard on Concrete Steppin, which is available now on iTunes and Amazon ***FYI - Both companies messed up with the track listing, so #10 is actually "Feel Good" (feat. Othello) and #11 is actually "It's Over" (feat. Buff1)***
