As a follow up to their previous EP, HelloGoodbye, Stik Figa & D/WILL bring us their latest project, Alive & Well. With their last release being themed as a suicide note to Stik Figa's son, Alive and Well provides a much different perspective on life, yet equally thought provoking. The EP is filled with substantial lyrics, and serving as a true concept-related project, each song is significant to the overall message: Stik Figa & D/WILL are alive and well. Entirely produced by D/WILL, the beats on the EP show expansive variety, equipped with unique flips on soul samples and steady loops as a soundtrack to Stik Figa's thoughts. "Alive and Well picks up right where the last one left off," says D/WILL, continuing, "then it leads into a blast of soulful feel goodness!"
The project leads off with "Alive", a song with chronological rhymes of Stik Figa's own birth, followed by the birth of his son. As the album continues, Stik Figa keeps it personal, addressing everything from his native Topeka, Kansas in "Be Like That", to his female encounters in "Fone Tag". "I'm very well-rounded for being a square," says Stik Figa on his versatility as a lyricist and songwriter. While he demonstrates his ability to rhyme about anything and everything, D/WILL demonstrates similar dynamics on the boards, providing an array of mood-altering beats. The combination brings listeners deep into the hearts of both Stik Figa & D/WILL.

Brooklyn Femcee Deena Jonez Ready to Break Through
In the spirit of keeping the legacy of true female emcees alive, Brooklyn born rapper Deena Jonez has emerged in the Hip-Hop scene. With influences such as MC Lyte, Queen Latifah, Roxanne Shante, and Salt-N-Pepa, Deena continues to make big strides for female artists all over the world. Frustrated with the current state of Hip-Hop and the male dominated arena, Deena looks to stand out.
"It's difficult being a female rapper. In the 90’s you had all these greats who were committed to the art. Now, it's like we are an endangered species; almost like we don’t exist anymore in Hip-Hop," proclaims Jonez.
Nonetheless, this budding rapper dares to bridge the gap between female legends and present time Hip-Hop culture.
Rocking fresh Supras, skinny jeans, a Gucci belt, and a graphic tee shirt, this outstanding raptress wears her heart on her sleeve through her songs. With a style reminiscent of her hipster community, she is a hybrid of Williamsburg’s hipster style matched with the lyrical deftness of a classic 90’s rapper. Deena has cultivated a strong fanbase, who have been with her since the days she went by the name of "Medina", which means "Land Of Warriors" and was also once known as the slang word for Brooklyn. Inspired by the story of the lead actress in the movie "Dreamgirls", the "Me" was dropped and Deena was born.
Over the years, Deena has been hard at work. After releasing "Dreamgirl: The Life and Times Of Deena Jonez", "For The Love Of Money", and "Deena Takes Control", she has released three more mixtapes entitled "Back To The Notebook", "Confessions Of A Shopaholic", and "Cadillac Music". Although there is only one original beat on this mixtape, Deena has approached all songs as if it was an album and therefore refers to it as an underground album. Because of her wide exposure in Hip-Hop, Deena has begun writing for other artists overseas as well as being the first artist under her own entertainment company, MIMS Music Group, which is named in memory of her mother.

DALLAS HIP HOP STAR DORROUGH SET TO RELEASE SOPHOMORE ALBUM, GET BIG, IN SEPTEMBER 2010
(New York, NY) — Emerging Dallas hip hop artist Dorrough is set to release his sophomore album, Get Big this fall, in September 2010 via Entertainment One Music/Ngenius. Get Big is the follow up to Dorrough’s debut album, Dorrough Music, which sold over 70,000 and featured the RIAA Platinum-certified smash, “Ice Cream Paint Job.”
In addition, Dorrough was also the recipient of a 2009 B.E.T. Hip-Hop Award for “Best New Artist” and “Rap Song of The Year.” He performed the song as a remix on the television broadcast with Snoop Dogg, Jim Jones and Nipsey Hustle.
“Get Big,” the title track from the new album is already over 1,300 spins at urban radio and growing quickly. It’s currently #27 with a bullet on the BDS chart. The “Get Big” video (Directed by Dr. Teeth), was immediately added to B.E.T. and is already Top 10 on the MTV2’s Sucka Free Countdown.
