After releasing his EP The Unlearning, and leading up to the release of his full-length album, Patience, which was produced entirely by Jake One and will be arriving April 20, 2010, TRUTHLiVE is releasing an inside look, four-part EPK series. As the third installment, The Barbershop follows the rapper as he prepares for a performance at Last Day Saloon, which is also the location of his Santa Rosa release party on April 16, and night out on the town. Getting a haircut from longtime friend Jon the Backyard Barber, TRUTHLiVE mentions Monta Ellis, of the Golden State Warriors, and the great game he played that evening. A true sports fanatic, look out for TRUTHLiVE's sports vlog coming soon. As the evening progresses, TRUTHLiVE sets up the stage of Last Day Saloon with the help of DJ Tonytone, a collaborator on "Tormented Genius", and does a quick, but meticulous, sound check for his DJ and rap sets. A true success, the show was sold out with over 500 in attendance. The real deal, when TRUTHLiVE hits the stage, he delivers.
TRUTHLiVE's album, Patience, is available April 20, 2010 via Interdependent Media. His album release party at Last Day Saloon will be April 16, 2010 and features performances by Zion-I, Donwill, Moe Green, DJ Toure, and The Park in addition to TRUTHLIVE's own set.
Evan "TRUTHLiVE" Phillips, owner and founder of Interdependent Media, has certainly made his mark in the music industry with his wide range of talents. As an emcee, DJ, entrepreneur, and artist, TRUTHLiVE has had his hands in everything from a very young age. After a traumatic adolescent period where his health was at risk, three heart surgeries proved the artist to be quite a fighter. He explains to his new listeners, "The name TRUTHLiVE doesn't mean that I'm proclaiming myself as the truth, end-all be-all; it's more of a reminder to myself on how to conduct my life and career." The MC best summates, "My music is my truth and my life." That meaningful music will arrive on April 20th in the form of Patience, TRUTHLiVE's debut release, courtesy of Bay Area label Interdependent Media.

California based Kottonmouth Kings have posted the song “Party Monsters” featuring Tech N9ne online at www.myspace.com/KottonmouthKings. Tech N9ne spit his lyrical fire on the track, which will be released on April 20th, 2010 when Kottonmouth Kings’ new studio album, “Long Live The Kings”, hits stores.
"The Kottonmouth Kings and Tech N9ne have been allies for years," commented Daddy X. "Sub Noize and Strange Music are part of the trilateral underground commission, so when Tech N9ne gets on a track with the Kottonmouth Kings, it sends shockwaves through the underground. Having Tech and Dirtball on the same track is like hearing two high powered missile launchers! It sounds devastating!"
"The Dirtball is a wonderful addition to the Kings because he's a fucking lyrical murderer,” added Tech N9ne. “With that being said, what he brings to Kottonmouth Kings will be a phenomenon!"

Amidst the escalating anticipation for his forthcoming album, emcee and one third of critically acclaimed Diamond District, yU, is proud to release the first official leak off his album, Before Taxes, entitled "Native". While setting the stage with lighthearted sampling from the comedic likeness of Dave Chappelle and sound clips from Glenn Beck, the track gradually transforms into the direct antithesis of its original vibe as it progresses. yU dives head first into some hard-hitting themes with a boom-bap feel as the bass pounds, the guitar lays down ghostly lead runs, and the drums creep along with a dragging, bass heavy groove. Lyrics such as, "I sing a song of truth, courage, and respect / Jumping out there like Geronimo, we stand up for that / And our plan of attack is straight Cherokee strategy / You can kill me, but you cannot kill my legacy," act to demonstrate yU's immense pride in his own Native American roots and his devotion to his ancestors. Collaborating with his partner Slimkat78, yU utilizes his experimental sound to get the song's message across. "The track is giving props to where it began, and hopefully it will make people think about where they're coming from," he says, clarifying the song's purpose. yU's solo project, Before Taxes, drops April 13, 2010 via Mello Music Group.
Stemming off the success of Diamond District's In The Ruff, emcee yU has branched out with his solo album, Before Taxes. Embodying the musical influences surrounding him, yU brings listeners tastes of the district, Maryland, and Virginia with his own classic brand of hip-hop. Showcasing his depth of talent and skill, yU expands on Diamond District's love of boom-bap and the golden era with this forthcoming release. Before Taxes will be released April 13th, 2010 via Mello Music Group.
Blestenation have concocted what some are saying is the most dynamic debut album from a rap group in years. The album ranges from arena rap anthems to dark melodic acoustic songs, as the group creates their own brand of misfit hip-hop. Blestenation’s “MBugout City” is currently available for pre-order along with a free copy of the group’s “Left For Dead” EP online at www.SubNoizeStore.com.
