[Mega Man]In honor of my interview with Random a/k/a Mega Ran on Episode #300 of The Hip-Hop Shop, this week's editorial picks ten video game sampling rap songs. It might be too bold to say these are the top ten OF ALL TIME since I'm not writing Ego Trip's Book of Rap Lists, but I'd go so far as to say all ten of them are worth your time to listen to if you love gaming as much as hip-hop.

It would be easy to fill the entire list with Random's music given he has done more video game albums than some rappers have albums in total. As a limiting factor I'm only including one of Random's songs in the list of ten, while simultaneously noting that you should still check out his classic gaming inspired material quite regularly - as well as his Mega-Lo-Mania Kickstarter campaign.

One disclaimer - one of the songs actually features a beatbox IMITATING a classic video game - but if you're open minded you can consider that a form of "sampling."
