Going into the Leon Haywood poll last week I assumed there would be a heavy bias toward Dr. Dre & Snoop based on the huge crossover success of "Nuthin' But a 'G' Thang." What I left unstated in that article was that I also had a feeling Twista's "Mobster's Anthem" might poll poorly as it wasn't a hit anywhere near to the level of the other three contestants, and because its sample of Haywood's "I Want'a Do Something Freaky to You" was the least different from Snoop & Dre of the four. That conclusion was 100% correct.
And the winner is...
Who sampled Leon Haywood better? Time for another WSIB poll! Four contenders for "I Want'a Do Something Freaky to You." #hiphop#WSIB
There's only one way to celebrate such a clear and definitive win -- and that's to let you hear all of what Andre Young and Calvin Broadus came up with again. Salute to the runner up entries though, particularly Masta Ace's "The I.N.C. Ride," which polled well going up against such a heavyweight hip-hop hit. As for Twista all I can say is "Sorry bro. You were the odd man out here."
