In the vein of Pete Rock & C.L Smooth, Reflection Eternal, Gang Starr and other legendary hip-hop MC/Producer duos, Grand Opus is a newly formed California based group, and the nostalgia-inducing 'Forever' is their introduction single. Joc Scholar, MC from Fresno and Bay-Area producer Centric (Sean Price, Kool G Rap, Rapper Big Pooh, Wordsmith), join forces to create a timeless offering, letting listeners know that hip-hop is very much alive on the West Coast.

Hybrids of hip-hop and electronic music are everywhere, but unless you've been getting down in Dallas' club scene, you haven't heard anything like DJ/producer duo Booty Fade's upcoming, self-titled EP, which hits streets on March 4th. Producer PICNICTYME, a long-standing member of Erykah Badu's coveted production crew, The Cannabinoids, and DJ Sober, responsible for strengthening Dallas's nightlife scene both rose from their city's hip-hop scene, but their music sounds nothing like what you'd expect.

Hard beats & hard rhymes; both have been core staples of Hip-hop since the culture’s inception. And while artists of today often circumvent this with gimmicks, an LP that combines the two cannot be denied. It's a simple formula that is and will always be effective.

Willie The Kid and Bronze Nazareth have collaborated on a musical effort of grandiose proportions. Appropriately entitled 'The Living Daylights' the LP is a 13-track venture containing the earthy and whimsical sound of Bronze's production and the colorfully complex wizardry of Willie The Kid's literary prose. The collaboration is seemingly long over due as both Willie The Kid and Bronze Nazareth are natives of Grand Rapids, MI the second largest city in the state.

It's only right that 18-year-old D.C. rapper Nooch sports a Los Angeles cap and a t-shirt showing a Death Row-era mugshot of Snoop Dogg in the video for "Suge Knight," the first single from his upcoming collaborative mixtape, Nail In the Coffin, with Baton Rouge-native Cerdafied.

Flanging synths, raw snare hits, a thunderous bass line, and rolling percussion elements have EP and Matter Ov Fact in their comfort zone as their witty and satirical lyricism flows fluently. EP raps about a woman who's "damn near forty" but "a straight dime," while Matter Ov Fact shares his story of a lady that's "damn near eighty" with "spider veins" and "crows feet."
