Video: Ryu - "The One"

Score: Los Angeles native, Ryan ‘Ryu’ Maginn’s story in Hip-hop is one integral thread in the tapestry of the underground Los Angeles Hip-hop diaspora. From his early years ruling the Los Angeles radio and cypher scenes, to breaking necks and banging heads with Styles of Beyond via their critically acclaimed seminal debut album ‘2000 Fold’ and their sophomore follow-up ‘MegaDef’ through to his work with Mike Shinoda in Fort Minor on their Jay-Z over-seen “Rising Tied’ album.

Fifteen Mega Ran Music Videos You Should Be Watching

[Mega Ran photo by Steve Juon]Editorial courtesy of Steve 'Flash' Juon: It's probably too early in the life and times of Raheem Jarbo b/k/a Mega Ran to declare him an all-time legend, but it's safe to say that over the last decade the self-admitted video game enthusiast has carved himself a large cultural niche. For people who love hip-hop and video games in equal measure, Ran was the man who took that love out of the closet and put it front and center for the world to see.

Biggie broke the code of silence for many when he rapped "Super Nintendo, Sega Genesis, when I was dead broke man I couldn't picture this." We all grew up playing games.

Editorial: Colin Kaepernick Is NOT Protesting the Military
Posted by Steve Juon at Tuesday, September 13th, 2016 at 12:00AM :: Email this article :: Print this article

[Colin Kaepernick courtesy Wikimedia Commons]Editorial courtesy of Steve 'Flash' Juon: I really feel like I shouldn't have to say this, but after reading a whole lot of ignorant comments this weekend, it's apparent I need to say it. It's even MORE apparent that I should say it when about a month or so somebody sent me an e-mail and said "I only come here for the reviews, so keep your G*d d*mn opinions to yourself." Tough luck amigo - this is my place to say what I want, when I want, any WAY that I want. And when it comes to the football field, the sidelines, or even the bench, those are Colin Kaepernick's spaces to say what he wants to whoever he wants too.

He obviously has a lot more places he can say things - radio interviews, YouTube videos, editorials for sports magazines - but the football field is the place where he's heard the loudest. This is mine. I'm going to use my First Amendment right to say what I want in it.
