At first I considered doing another list of ten political rap videos for November 8th, but since I already tread that ground in 2014 I decided there wasn’t much more I could add to it now. Besides, don’t we all need a break from politics at this point? I believe in going to the polls to vote but I also believe that once we’ve dealt with the serious issues at hand we should also get a chance to have (HAVE WHAT) have FUNNNNN! It’s been a bruising year for voters, so if you’re feeling a palpable sense of relief after casting your ballot this year, you’re not the only one.
Let’s take time out to remind ourselves that despite all the things that separate us and divide us as voters, we’re all still living short lives on this big rock that’s floating through an infinitely big universe. Nothing lasts for ever, certainly not us, and why be miserable for the short amount of time we have? Obviously if you’re suffering from physical or mental ailments it’s not as easy as saying “go out and have some fun” and then doing it. I certainly don’t want to belittle the hard challenges that so many people face in their everyday lives that I’ve never had to. If you can find some joy today though, even a little bit, share it with someone around you. Positivity can be spread just like negativity, and though we don’t always get a choice in the circumstances of our lives, we do get to choose our outlook on it. Today is a good time to celebrate because any day that you’re alive to read this is ALSO a good day. Enjoy it!
