This is another one of those frustrating times for me as a man who touts Sega Genesis games and then realizes the absurd amounts they sell for. In an ideal world you could pay the exact same price I paid for this game — two dollars and ninety-nine cents (plus tax). Unfortunately Steel Empire will cost you far more than that in 2020 and probably any year after this video – at least $25 loose, at least $65 complete, and at least $100 SEALED.
This causes me to describe Steel Empire as a “try before you buy” type of game. If the video I produced here intrigues you, seek it out for play through an emulator or an EverDrive style device. If that sells you on it, pick up a physical copy at the lowest price you can. There are ports to GameBoy Advance and Virtual Console if you want to go that route too.
