Steve 'Flash' JuonThere’s an English language patch for City Hunter that’s now widely available (thanks to Cabbage), but for the purpose of The PC Engine Files I decided to play the original and wholly untranslated version to see how far I could get. Pretty far as it turns out! This game combines elements of Elevator Action, Rolling Thunder and platforming into a highly enjoyable title where you have to collect items and find women to restore your health.
Unfortunately I didn’t find any of the women so my health ran out, but that just gives me an excuse to apply the patch and try again! The only downside of City Hunter is that it’s based on a popular manga/anime so the prices for a copy of this game are pretty insane!
