The announcement from Terraonion of a new firmware for Super SD System 3 today (December 14, 2020) hit me like a bolt of lightning. I had so long taken for granted the default firmware that came with the unit when I first bought it that I wasn’t expecting any quality of life improvements, but they were clearly working hard behind the scenes!
With an easy drag and drop update (which I demonstrate in the video) you get easier to read menus that now display in both upper and lowercase, you can boot Japanese CD games from a US CD bios, you get one integrated menu with subfolders instead of a separated tab just for CD games (easily organize your titles any way you want) and even an option to mix CD audio back into your TurboGrafx-16 or PC Engine for output to devices like portable monitors (some small soldering required). Check out all of the new things you can do and subscribe to Mistah MegaManFan for more retro gaming news and updates. Thanks for watching!
