Steve 'Flash' JuonYou may already be familiar with this game under a different name — either Wonder Boy III: The Dragon’s Trap on Sega Master System, or Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap on PS4 and Nintendo Switch among others. Inexplicably they changed the name when porting it to PC Engine and TurboGrafx-16, now calling it Dragon’s Curse, and they even changed the text IN the game a little bit to reflect a somewhat modified plot!
It’s all cosmetic though as the game plays exactly the same, right down to the placement of the enemies and the price you pay for the items you upgrade your protagonist with. The colors and music lose a little luster going from SMS to TG-16, but it’s still highly enjoyable and does add the bonus of a save file instead of forcing you to use passwords!
