Steve 'Flash' JuonI respect the heck out of Richard Scarry’s Busytown for Sega Genesis. This cartridge is crammed with more vocal samples and animated characters than you could have ever expected for a game from the era given the size limitations programmers had to work with. It also supports the Sega Genesis mouse if you have one (which sadly I don’t) but doesn’t FORCE you to use it, allowing you to take the bog standard 3-button (or the 6) and access all of the games features.
There’s only one problem here — it isn’t much of a game. It’s an interactive storybook with very few choices or decisions to make. Thus while I respect the technical achievement of Richard Scarry’s Busytown, it’s kind of hard to recommend to anybody, because even the demo that it’s made for has moved on to mobile devices.
