Today we’re looking at the rechargeable lithium ion battery pack for Sega Nomad available from LaserBear.net. They did not sponsor this video nor did they review the footage before it was uploaded. I sought them out after seeing another video from Macho Nacho Productions about it, by which point they had upgraded the product from a do-it-yourself assembly kit with no LED readout to a fully assembled unit which shows you the battery life when you tap the button.

Drawbacks — this kit costs you $60 before S&H, and the recommended batteries from Nitecore another $42 before shipping. Is that worth it? It depends on whether or not you want your Sega Nomad to be tethered to a wall while you’re playing it, and it also depends on whether or not you want to constantly shuffle in a fresh set of six AA batteries that will only last a few hours if you even have the battery pack (many people don’t). It can save you a lot of money in the long run if you look at it that way, but I wanted to at least demonstrate the product so you could make up your own mind. As always thank you for watching Genesis Does!
