Bomberman ’93 Special Version is a case study in why scarcity should not equal desirability. If you’re a hardcore PC Engine collector who needs every last variant of every title, it’s likely to be a “holy grail” you’ve been looking for a long time. It was only produced for an event in Osaka, Japan and never entered commercial retail. There’s no reason it should have either as it’s a stripped down version of Bomberman ’93 that only has a 2-5 player mode with no AI opponent or enemies on the play field.
You were meant to battle it out with other people in person at the event, and after that you’d never play it again. I’m glad that it has been dumped for preservation and emulation, but you should play the regular Bomberman ’93 instead.
